Stone arranges for an undercover operation against the man to catch him selling drugs and put him in jail, away from the heiress, and Stone enjoys sex with the beautiful undercover cop. Will the cop succumb to the gangster’s reptilian style? The word beautiful and sex crops up frequently in this engaging tale, and Stone is frequently and understandably tired. “It’s a good thing you’re not Catholic,” Dino (his friend said to Stone). “At confession, you’d give a priest a heart attack.”

I liked the old Stone better. The three-some was pure trash and I almost quit at this point. Stuart, perhaps you should read a Vince Flynn book and see how it should and could be done. I’ve read all the Stone books, but probably will not anymore.It has all turned into R rated, and this isn’t what always sells books. Stuart, I hope you are reading this.

Not one of Wood’s best works. I’m not sure if it is my own envy or just the monotony of Stone Barrington’s amazing ability to seduce anything that wears a skirt, but this story is lame, tired and disjointed. The ending, if you can call it that, falls on its face. I’m accustomed to a lot of action and suspense from Mr. Woods, but was disappointed as all I seemed to get (besides Stone’s sexual prowess) was fashion plate reviews for Stone and his stable of women, the same tired meals at Elaine’s and so much Knob Creek that I felt hung over in the morning after reading just a few pages. And poor old Dino was reduced to nothing more than a place setting in a B movie.
