Ask Supernanny: What Every Parent Wants to Know
Product Description
Supernanny Jo Frost is back, with a new book to give parents the step-by-step help they need to put her tried-and-tested techniques into practice. As viewers around the world can testify, Jo tames the wildest toddlers, sorts out the bolshiest kids and turns warring tribes into loving, relaxed families. Her methods really work. Ever since she first appeared on our screens, thousands of parents have written to Jo to ask for help, Mums and Dads — often at the end of their tether — who need in-depth advice to implement her common-sense techniques. This book is the result. In ASK SUPERNANNY Jo addresses a wide range of new issues, from single parenting, divorce and bereavement, to how to take the stress out of the school run. She introduces new techniques to improve family dynamics; and she provides the depth and detail to make sure you can put her methods successfully into action — right from the word go.

My wife and I were getting very frustrated with some of the issues we were having with our 2 1/2 year old, and the techniques in both of Jo Frost’s books really helped us save our sanity. For instance, we could never take our son shopping, because he did not want to ride in the cart, and wanted to be carried through the store. If he would get down to walk, he would not hold our hand for long before he would try to run off. My wife and I both suffer from back injuries, so it was just killing us to carry him all of the time, and the tantrums he would throw when we tried to make him sit in the cart, would make us feel like everyone was staring at us. We used the technique of writing a small shopping list for our son, that had some small pictures of items that he could recognize, and gave him a pen to mark things off of his list as we put them in the cart. We did this, and he actually sat in the cart the entire time we were shopping. He has never sat in the cart for any longer than 3-5 minutes tops before throwing a tantrum. The techniques were also great for helping us get our son to eat at supper time, and also to help us get our son under control when it came to hitting and kicking at us. This book is well worth the money. We were beginning to wonder if we were bad parents, but it was just that we did not have the knowledge and tools needed to raise him to respect what we ask him to do. Do not hesitate to purchase this book, or her other book. You will see a drastic difference in your child’s behavior as soon as you put Jo Frost’s techniques into action. A+++ book

This is a great book. I bought the first Supernanny book that came out and while it was a good book I still had questions that remained unanswered because I had hoped it was a bit more specific. Then comes along Ask Supernanny which was exactly what I wanted. It has lots of great information and advice that all parents should know. It’s very helpful and really makes life easier. It helps us deal with whatever problems we have with our son and fix them and help him understand that he isn’t the boss of the house. This leaves for much more quality family time together, which is really what life should be about anyway. Great book.

Ask Supernanny is a fairly comprehensive parenting book. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I figured that judging from her show, this book had to have some helpful information- and I was correct. This book has helpful hints from ages 0-12…so it’s not something that you’ll read once and leave on the shelf to gather dust, I’m sure it will be something I pick up from time to time to see what information might be available on a certain topic.
Overall I agreed with and thought most of the advice was right on and I’m hoping that most will be successful. I’ve already taken on some advice and it seems to make sense for us. I think the big determination will be when the “terrible two’s” really kick in! I’d definately say this book is worth the bargain price of only $10- although I think I paid a bit more retail. Either way I’d say it’s a nice addition to your parenting book collection- it’s nicely put together, organized and easy to get through and easy to pull out and look up specific info.

This book was not exactly what I was looking for…disciplining principles for toddlers. But it does give helpful advice for older kids that are energetic, troublesome or rowdy.

The first supernanny is great, this one is ok but not as good. The reason is she simply answers very specific questions from letters she has from parents. Many of these questions and answers were things that very few people have to deal with and thus not as good. The one chapter I did like was the extra explanation she gives about how to correctly do a time out.
